DAVID Warner reported to NSW officials an approach from a man in India during the Champions League last season he suspected to be involved with Indian bookmakers
NSW Blues team manager Marshall Rosen was notified by Warner of the incident at the Mauria hotel in Delhi.
"A group of guys approached David Warner and some other NSW players at the bar while they were watching a Champions League match on television," Rosen told The Daily Telegraph last night.
"I was the manager on the trip and he reported to me that the questions being asked and the behaviour wasn't like your typical Indian cricket fan. A seminar had been run before the tournament about gambling and match-fixing and what to do should something arise.
"Dave did exactly what he was supposed to do.
"He reported it to me and the next day, I passed on the information to the gentleman who was running the anti-gambling program.
"He wanted photos of the individual concerned but we couldn't provide him with any. We had been warned before the tournament about what might happen - and it did happen. I can confirm a report was made by Dave Warner to me and I passed on all the details to the tournament officials in charge of that area."
Warner told the group of interlopers to get out of the bar when he started to sense trouble.
