Cameron White to play for Bangalore in Twenty20 Champions League 2010

Victorian captain Cameron White admits he's not happy about having to play for Bangalore instead of the Bushrangers at the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in South Africa next month.

White said while he was disappointed he couldn't lead his team, his absence offered younger Bushrangers a chance to perform on the world stage.

"Obviously I'm disappointed I won't be available to play for my home team the Bushrangers at Champions League," White said.

"In my absence David Hussey will captain the team and I know he will do an excellent job. I think he's proved time and time again he's more than capable of taking the reins and leading the guys to success."

"I think it's important to note that now someone else in the squad gets a chance - this is a considerable positive we can take from the situation."

Three changes have been made to the Bushrangers squad that was knocked out by New South Wales in the semi-final stage of the inaugural Champion's League in India in 2009.

This time around they add Twenty20 specialist Dirk Nannes – who was last year contracted to play for Delhi Daredevils – and youngsters Glen Maxwell, off-spinner, and Ryan Carters, wicketkeeper.

Cricket Victoria chief executive Tony Dodemaide said it was disappointing for the Bushrangers not to have White involved in their campaign.

"We certainly would have loved to have Cameron available to play and captain the Victorian side," said Dodemaide.

CV will be handed $US200,000 ($A218,125) in compensation from Bangalore.

The Vics take on South Africa's Warriors in their opening match on September 13 in Port Elizabeth.
Victoria squad David Hussey (capt), Ryan Carters, Aaron Finch, Shane Harwood, John Hastings, Brad Hodge, Andrew McDonald, Bryce McGain, Clint McKay, Glenn Maxwell, Dirk Nannes, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Peter Siddle, Matthew Wade.
